SkillsQuest

Child-Centered Education for Individuals with Unique Abilities.

Natural Interests & Skills Growth

Welcome to the SkillsQuest program!

The SkillsQuest curriculum, supported by resarch and inspired by Montessori methods, fosters rigorous, self-motivated growth for children in all areas of their development. Our classroom Learning Guides emphasize, modeling both tasks and composure as well as hands-on learning. Students’ natural interests provide a springboard for developing real-world skills that prepare a strong foundation for many more years of learning to come.

Our Philosophy

At SkillsQuest, we believe in inclusive classrooms where students with unique abilities (UA) receive a customized education based on their individual needs. Our flexible structure facilitates collaboration and our curriculum encourages each student to explore, question, and discover at their own pace. Our Christian ethos is woven throughout our curriculum, promoting values of stewardship, integrity, and compassion. Each day begins with connection activities, setting a tone of mindfulness and spiritual growth that carries through our daily rhythm of playing and learning.

Join Our Community

SkillsQuest is more than just a microschool; it’s a community. With a limited enrollment of no more than 5 students with unique abilies, we ensure personalized attention to each student, fostering an environment where curious minds can thrive both academically and socially.

Curriculum Highlights

Nature and Science Integration

Using our expansive farm as both classroom and laboratory, students dive into life sciences, exploring everything from local flora and fauna to principles of ecology and sustainability.

Project-Based & Place-Based Learning

We harness the power of project-based learning and curricular field trips to deepen understanding and foster practical skills. Students tackle real-world problems through projects that integrate various academic disciplines, turning every lesson into a living, breathing experience.

Personalized Learning

Services provided to students with unique abilities (UA) are varied and determined by individual student data related to each student’s Individual Education Plan (IEP). Our flexible structure facilitates collaboration across school staff who provide direct instruction with individual students or small groups of students.

Mindfulness & Movement

Movement is key to learning on the SkillQuest pathway. Young explorers participate in a variety of mindfulness exercises & movement activities, ensuring that they remain active and engaged, promoting both physical health and improved cognitive function.
